Apologies, everyone! I've been so busy, and then when not busy, I've been waiting for some amazing burst of inspiration so I can write a stunningly wonderful blog post - only that inspiration just hasn't come. So I'll do my best and just update you all on my life right now.
I am writing this at my roommate's dining room table as I look out the front window and watch the snow fall. (Some spring break!) Writing this blog post gives me a good excuse to not do my study guide for my Spanish test next week, but don't worry - I'll get back to that as soon as I'm done here. I'd much rather do that than study for my Chemistry test next week.
This semester has been crazy! I am working ten hours a week and taking 15 credits (which may not seem like much until you consider that includes two lab sciences and a language, and, oh yeah, Psychology). Chem this semester has just about killed me. I can't wait to be done with it and put it behind me. I had no idea it would be so much harder than last semester's chem.
With all these responsibilities, I've barely had time for a social life. Haha, sadly, most of the time, "hanging out with friends" consists of getting together to do homework or study for tests! Oh, well, at least my study buddies are cool people. I have found some time for fun, though. Calvin Student Senate hosted a Great Gatsby themed dance in February, and I went with 4 of my good friends. We had a good time, but we left early and went to Steak n' Shake and got fries and ice cream, which was even more enjoyable! I attended the second Rangeela show the next weekend and loved it! (Rangeela is an annual Calvin event that showcases dance, song, and fashion from cultures all over the world.) I also had a visit from my sister, and enjoyed an overnight staff retreat with my work friends. I've also watched movies (though a lot fewer than last semester), and I enjoyed a trip down town with a few friends to go swing dancing.
Michigan weather continues to puzzle. For a while there, I thought we might actually have spring, and I wore a skirt, tank top, and denim jacket to work. Then Spring Break finally came, and it started snowing again. I figure eventually...maybe...Spring will come...possibly?
If any of you feel like praying for me, I could use it. Mostly, just pray that I will be able to enjoy this last half of the semester and not get so caught up in busyness that I forget to revel in this stage of life. I don't want to miss out on anything, especially not because I'm stressed and distracted by everything. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I intend to enjoy it all I can!
Stay strong, my friends! May all of you have a lovely day, a lovely week, and (depending on your location...) a lovely spring!
